The Obama wedding was a study in contrasts. The bride wore white silk, while some guests dressed in traditional African garb. The reception was at the South Shore Cultural Center, at one time a country club that excluded blacks and Jews. And the traditional Christian ceremony was officiated by a pastor who was later lambasted by the religious right: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
